  • Joseph Greco wrote & directed Canvas, which stars Academy Award winner Marcia Gay Harden, Emmy Award winner Joe Pantoliano and Devon Gearhart.  Canvas won the Alice Nella Citta (Best Feature) at the Rome Film Festival, audience awards at Nantucket, Sedona, Ft. Lauderdale & Sarasota, and was an Official Selection (NY Film Critics, AFI Dallas & the Hamptons).  Canvas was heralded by film critics Roger Ebert and Peter Travers of Rolling Stone, who declared Canvas to be “a triumphant, beautifully acted film.”  Canvas was the recipient of a Voice Award and received the Outstanding Media Award by NAMI. MovieMaker Magazine recognized Greco in their screenwriter spotlight for Canvas, and First Lady Rosalynn Carter invited Greco to speak and screen Canvas at The Carter Center.  Other screenings include the United Nations, Tufts and Yale University.  Screen Media released Canvas in theaters and Universal Studios released the film on DVD.  Joseph Greco has directed plays, music videos & PSAs, working with such notable actors as Harrison Ford, Mathew Modine, and Cloris Leachman.  Greco directed the music video Hope is a Thing for singer/songwriter Lisbeth Scott (Munich, Avatar), working alongside two-time Academy Award winning Cinematographer Haskell Wexler.  Greco has produced web content for The Walt Disney Company, and was a producer of Joe Pantoliano’s documentary No Kidding, Me Too, which aired on PBS.  Greco is a graduate of FSU’s Film School.  He learned the business working under the auspices of Oscar winning director James Cameron (Titanic & Avatar) and garnered awards of his own with his short films, The Ghost of Drury Lane & Lena’s Spaghetti, which premiered in the Telluride Film Festival Filmmakers of Tomorrow Program.  Joseph Greco is a DGA member & lives in Los Angeles.
